Temporary lane closures planned for Minges Road due to downed tree

BATTLE CREEK — City crews will work to both clean up a fallen tree and remove the remaining dead tree along Minges Road, resulting in temporary lane closures beginning today, according to a press release from the city.

This tree fell yesterday afternoon and the remainder of the tree is dead and will be removed, in addition to the clean-up work from the part of the tree that fell.

The specific section of Minges Road impacted by these temporary lane closures includes West Minges Road near Hickory Lane.

While there are no expected complete road closures during this tree removal and clean-up work, there will be flaggers assisting traffic during temporary lane closures.

Crews expect the work to begin today and expect the work to be completed by Thursday due to possible weather and heat-related delays.

“We appreciate everyone’s patience during all work on our city’s infrastructure,” the press release said.
