LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Arkansans looking to take advantage of the three-day Labor Day weekend can find things to do Labor Day weekend as summer draws to a close.

Events run the gamut from outdoor and active to indoor and laid-back.

All weekend

National Championship Chuckwagon Races in Clinton. This is a chance to immerse yourself in cowboy culture and watch men, women and families visit and wrangle the best out of their horses & mules. A big crowd with lots of horses, bring sunscreen and a chair.

The Arkansas Renaissance Festival is at Dragonstone Springs in Mount Vernon. It starts on Saturday with the opening weekend and includes Tea with the Queen on Sunday and Monday. The former is an experience of knights and ladies and the culture of a long-past era, and the latter is also that, but it features high-end tea and foods “perfect for a relaxing break.”
