Arkansas man killed in Kings County crash, CHP says

KINGS COUNTY, Calif. ( KSEE/KGPE ) – A 22-year-old man from Arkansas died in a crash in Kings County Wednesday night, according to the California Highway Patrol.

CHP says around 10:30 p.m. officers responded to a crash on Highway 41, north of Nevada Avenue.

CHP investigators say a 26-year-old man from Hanford was driving a tan Toyota Tacoma on northbound Highway 41.

At the same time, CHP says a 22-year-old man from Arkansas was driving a white Toyota Rav4 southbound on the highway.

Investigators say the Arkansas man veered into the northbound lane directly into the path of the Tacoma, causing the truck to overturn.

Officers say the man in the Rav4 died at the scene. The driver in the overturned vehicle had minor injuries and was treated on the scene.

There’s no word yet on why the driver from Arkansas veered into the opposite lane, but officers say alcohol or drugs do not appear to be a factor in this crash.
