Entertainment, Oktoberfest Olympics on tap in Mount Angel

While there’s loads of things to do across the Mount Angel Oktoberfest, some of the best performances are in the Biergarten, Weingarten and Alpinegarten. Children get in free, though their hours are limited, while adults must buy a wristband to partake in the merriment Thursday through Sunday, Sept. 12-15.

But don’t worry, a one-day wristband gets you entry into all the paid locales, so you can come and go as you please to hit all your favorite performances.

Biergarten in the Festhalle

The biergarten in the Festhalle, 500 S. Wilco Highway, is the place for entertainment at Oktoberfest.

Minor are welcome in the biergarten tent until 10 p.m. Thursday; 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday; and until 6 p.m. closing time Sunday.

Polka music starts off the days before switching the more traditional biergarten tunes, before Alpine rock takes center stage with Die Schlauberger at night.

Don’t miss the daily Oktoberfest Olympics, made up of hopeful crowd volunteers, to test your German skills from 4:15-4:45 p.m. Thursday; 7-7:30 p.m. Friday; 7:15-7:45 p.m. Saturday; and 3:45-4:14 p.m. Sunday.
