Good afternoon everyone. We are watching a couple of hot spots flaring up as far as powerful thunderstorms and isolated tornadic activity. Our first stop is the most current and important in terms of ongoing severe weather risks.

As forecasted in this morning’s article, the northern flank of our long daisy-chain line of heavy showers and thunderstorms, would be the most active in terms of widespread severe weather. At the time of this article, we are watching a long and powerful line of storms to the west of Minneapolis, MN marching quickly to the east.

These storms have had a history of large hail, damaging winds, torrential rain, and even an ongoing tornado warning for radar-indicated rotation in the Morrison, MN area. This particular storm is moving to the northeast very rapidly at 55mph. For this reason, the National Weather Service has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch until 9pm CDT in parts of Minnesota, Iowa, and Wisconsin.
