Mountain Brook Police warning citizens of ‘fraudsters’ impersonating officers, asking for money

MOUNTAIN BROOK, Ala. (WBRC) – Mountain Brook Police say they have received numerous reports of scammers pretending to be officers. According to MBPD, ‘fraudsters’ have been impersonating officers and have been calling potential victims to demand a payment to avoid a warrant or arrest. MBPD says the scammers may demand payments that include cash apps, gift cards, Bitcoin, or just by simply asking you to mail cash.
