Spokane drivers urged to stay alert for school zone safety

SPOKANE, Wash. – Drivers in Spokane are being urged to be mindful of school zones as the new school year begins. Shannon McGinnis, a resident of Spokane, expressed concern over frequent incidents involving distracted driving near schools. She said, “You have to be the voice for the kids, and the eyes for the kids so just pay attention to the kids.”
