Deputies seek man who broke into home near Kalamazoo

OSHTEMO TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — Deputies are looking for the person who broke into a Kalamazoo-area home with a gun Thursday morning.

It happened around 7:45 a.m. on Mt. Royal Drive in the area of W KL Street and S. Drake Road in Oshtemo Township.

The Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Office says that when a masked man forced his way into the home, the person inside called 911 and the intruder took off. Deputies brought in a dog to try to track him but he wasn’t found.

The person in the home, who was the only person there, wasn’t hurt.

Deputies say the intruder was wearing a dark-colored ski mask, a dark-colored shirt and jeans. He was carrying a black handgun.
