Stockton police arrest suspect in connection with shooting that killed woman, 31

The Stockton Police Department has announced an arrest in connection with the August shooting death of a woman in central Stockton.

Police said Jason Cinotti, 40, was arrested in the killing of a 31-year-old Stockton woman on Aug. 3 in the 200 block of East Churchill Street . The woman has been identified as Chelsie Wilson-Archuleta by the San Joaquin County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Officers responded to the shooting at about 2 a.m. on Aug. 3. Police said Wilson-Archuleta was found suffering from a gunshot wound and was rushed to a hospital, where she died of her injuries days later.

Cinotti was booked into the San Joaquin County Jail at 3:27 a.m. on Wednesday, according to jail records. Bail is not allowed for Cinotti, who is scheduled for arraignment Friday afternoon.

The Stockton Police Department said the investigation into Wilson-Archuleta’s death is ongoing.
