Vice President Harris buys Gullah sweetgrass basket from Charlestonian

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – While on a two-day bus tour through southeast Georgia, Vice President Harris made a stop to purchase a traditional Gullah sweetgrass basket from a native of Charleston.

On Thursday Harris stopped at a Dottie’s Market in Savannah to buy a basket from Andrea Jefferson, a 6th generation sewer from Charleston.

Andrea Jefferson has been featured in Southern Living and other media. Her award-winning baskets have also been touted by John Legend.
