A local on the Worldwide Leader

MT. PLEASANT, S.C. (WCBD) – Starting out in local TV then working her way up to the ACC Network, James Island’s Kelsey Riggs has made it all the way to the anchor desk at ESPN.

“Everything’s just a foundational piece and that’s what I tell people wanting to get into the industry which I think is so cool,” Riggs said. “It may not be the ultimate dream job as soon as you get out of college, as soon as you get your first opportunity. But that doesn’t mean it’s not setting you up for your future.”

Not wanting to sit in the main seats in 2019 until it was her job. Riggs has filled in at the Mothership before.

Starting tonight, Kelsey will become a permanent host on Sports Center.

“Literally fell to my knees excited and terrified the first time I got the call I was going to fill in on one. So, it is more than a dream come true to have an opportunity. When I think of sports and iconic sports shows, Sports Center is right up there for me.”

Hard work, determination, being a good person has led Kelsey to where she is today
