Waves of Praise Gospel Fest returns to Myrtle Beach for Labor Day weekend

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW) — This Labor Day weekend, the best-of-the-best in gospel music will converge in Myrtle Beach for the annual “Waves of Praise Gospel Fest.”

The free event takes place at Burroughs and Chapin Pavilion Place on Friday and Saturday. Event promoter Reggie Dyson is excited to bring back gospel fest to Myrtle Beach for its sixth year. He said attendees can expect more than 30 artists over the holiday weekend.

“Folk can come out and just simply be blessed and have a great time,” Dyson said. “Tasha Cobbs Leonard, the Canton Spirituals, Luther Barnes, Dr. McKenzie and the Gospel highlights, Kalontae Gavin, Wes Morgan. I mean, it’s a truck load of satisfaction and we want everybody to come. Dress comfortable and let’s have a grand time.”

Dyson said it’s one of the biggest gospel concerts on the East Coast, bringing people from all walks of life together through music. The event kicks off at 6 p.m. on Friday. Attendees can expect live music, food, vendors and arts and crafts for the children.
