Wichita man arrested after allegedly displaying handgun during Chase County traffic stop

Chase County deputies have arrested a Wichita man who allegedly pulled out a handgun as part of a traffic stop in Strong City early Thursday. The Sheriff’s Office says the incident began shortly before 1:40 am at the Flint Hills One Stop. A deputy investigating a possible driving under the influence of drugs case, but the driver, identified as 48-year-old Earl Wallace, allegedly got back into the stopped car and pulled out a handgun. The deputy got Wallace to put the gun down. Wallace was taken into custody as other Chase County deputies and Lyon County deputies responded to the scene.
