As more than 100 Texas school districts pay recapture, Denton ISD doesn’t expect to send dollars back to Austin

Around the state, more than 100 school districts with high-dollar home values are planning to pay millions to the Texas Education Agency to comply with a state law best known as “Robin Hood.”

While Denton ISD trustees unanimously voted to pay the state back for excess tax money using a weighted average daily attendance formula to purchase attendance credits, Denton ISD Deputy Superintendent Jeremy Thompson said Thursday that administrators don’t think the district will owe the state any funds.
