WestBend, the large mixed-use development planned for a former auto salvage yard tucked between McKinley Avenue and the Scioto River, is about to head into its next stage. Michael Amicon, of Upland Development Co., said that after nearly two years of environmental remediation and other site prep work, vertical construction is now on track to start by the end of this year or in early 2025. The first phase of the project, which was first proposed in 2022, will hold 463 apartment units spread over seven buildings.
