M.O.M.S tour coming to Birmingham

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ( WIAT ) — The Maternal Outreach and Medical Support tour is coming to Birmingham Sept. 8.

Much-needed stormy weather expected through Labor Day Weekend

The M.O.M.S. tour aims to revolutionize maternal health outcomes by providing support, education and resources to those in need. Their goal is to see the U.S. become one of the safest places for women to give birth. According to a press release from the organization, Black women are 3-4 times more likely to die from pregnancy-related causes than white women, and 80% of all pregnancy-related deaths are preventable. The tour brings metal health professionals, birth workers and community members to engage in discussions on maternal health disparities.
