The Big House to offer Founders beer

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — The Big House in Ann Arbor is set to start serving alcohol Saturday, and one of the options for fans will be beer from Founders.

Grand Rapids-based Founders Brewing Co. has announced it is now a craft brewery sponsor of the University of Michigan Athletics. Fans can grab a beer like the All Day IPA at Wolverine sporting events, starting with the home kickoff game as the Wolverines take on Fresno State.

The Big House will also feature a Founders-branded concession area.

What do changing tastes mean for Grand Rapids’ craft brew industry?

Elton Andrés Knight, the CEO Founders parent company Mahou USA, in a statement said Michigan is “central to the story of Founders.”

“We were founded in Michigan, we are honored to craft our beers and source many of our ingredients from here, and most of our team members were born and raised here. The University of Michigan is one of our state’s greatest institutions, and we are extremely proud to have Founders sponsor University of Michigan Athletics,” Knight said. “We have many Wolverine fans here at Founders, and all of us at Mahou USA look forward to bringing our award-winning beers to championship-winning Michigan sports.”
