Jackson Arnold postgame comments following Oklahoma win

Jackson Arnold looked great in his first game in 2024. He finished 13 for 19 passing for 121 yards in the Sooners 51-3 win over Temple. Additionally, Jackson threw four touchdown passes, including three to Deion Burks and ended the game with a 191.4 quarterback rating.

Here’s what Jackson had to say in his postgame press conference.

On Deion Burks

“Deion is just a playmaker, a guy I can trust to be open no matter what. He plays his butt off, very physical, very gifted runner. I think he showed tonight his ability to get open at all times. That connection is real!”

On the scaled down game plan against Temple

“It’s fine, I mean take what the defense gives you. And to be fair, with the field position we had tonight…there’s not going to be very many shots to be taken…I trust Coach Lattrell and his play calling. If it wasn’t time to take a shot then it wasn’t time.”

On the struggles the team had on third down

“I think it’s just us getting behind the chains early on and getting into third and long situations…You know there was a bunch of third down leading to fourth down situations. I think we were 100% on fourth down conversions tonight. Which is part of the reason why some of those third downs weren’t converted.”
