Syracuse pools get $4 million as part of NY’s effort to teach more kids to swim

Syracuse, N.Y. – Two city pools will get $4 million in upgrades through a new state program meant to encourage more kids to learn to swim and to prevent drownings. The pools at Thornden Park and Upper Onondaga Park are each getting $2 million to improve a bathhouse, add swimming lanes and make the pools more accessible to people with different abilities.
