California Issues More Marijuana Recalls for Illegal Pesticide Use

California officials have issued a mandatory recall of two additional marijuana products for using an illegal pesticide.

On Thursday, the Department of Cannabis Control (DCC) issued a consumer advisory regarding the mandatory recall of the following legal marijuana products:

These products were found to contain chlorfenapyr, a pesticide typically used on leaves to control pests such as caterpillars, fungus gnats, and mites. This discovery adds to a series of recalls involving West Coast Cure (WCC) and other companies over the past few months for similar violations.

West Coast Cure, a leading brand in California with widespread distribution, informed MJBizDaily that all its retail products had passed compliance testing at state-licensed labs. However, the recently recalled items were packaged over 10 months ago and have likely already been consumed.
