Marion County, FL Antonio’s Made In Italy was closed temporarily due to 11 violations in Micanopy

Antonio’s Made In Italy, a popular Italian restaurant in Marion County, was ordered to close temporarily following a routine food inspection by the Florida Department of Business & Professional Regulation.

The restaurant, located at 22050 N. US 441 in Micanopy, FL, was cited for 11 violations, including two high-priority infractions that contributed to the temporary closure.

According to state records, the initial inspection was conducted on August 23, and it revealed 2 high-priority infractions, 4 intermediate violations, and 5 basic violations.

Among the notable violations were rodent activity, unfitting food handling, and a lack of necessary certifications for employees. As a result, Antonio’s Made In Italy was instructed to stop operations until the violations were corrected.

A follow-up inspection the same day resulted in the restaurant meeting inspection standards. However, a subsequent callback review on August 24 identified two intermediate violations, mandating another follow-up inspection.
