LEXINGTON, KY – Mothman, the legendary winged creature first reported in Point Pleasant, West Virginia, in the 1960s, has also been sighted in neighboring Kentucky.
According to Utah State University, while the creature is most famously associated with the Silver Bridge collapse of 1967, reports of Mothman sightings have surfaced in various locations, including Kentucky, fueling speculation that the mysterious figure roams beyond its original stomping grounds.
According to WBKR, in the 2000s, residents of Ashland, Kentucky, began reporting sightings of a large, humanoid figure with glowing red eyes and enormous wings, similar to descriptions of the original Mothman.
Witnesses claim the creature has been seen flying over rural areas and even near highways at night, startling drivers and onlookers.
According to Utah State University, in more recent years, reports have emerged from across the state, including sightings near Louisville and the forests of the Appalachian region. While these accounts are often met with skepticism, they have nonetheless contributed to the enduring mythos of Mothman as a wandering cryptid.
