Tell Me Something Good: State Park at the State Fair

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — It’s a bit like Brigadoon, appearing out of nowhere each year at Fair time. But a lot of fairgoers don’t even realize there’s a State Park at the State Fair.

Julie Smith oversees the Park at the Fair, in front of the Horticulture Building, with its reflecting pool, mini-golf course, and other exhibits, a Whitman Sampler of what the other 250 or so state parks and historic sites have to offer year-round.

This year, New York marks 100 years of the State Park System with a Centennial Challenge: a virtual scavenger hunt of activities your family can chase throughout the year.
