PETERSBURG, Va. (WRIC) — A 45-year-old woman was arrested in connection to a reported aggravated assault in Petersburg.
According to the Petersburg Bureau of Police , at around 6:30 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 30, police responded to the 1000 block of South Crater Road for the report of an aggravated assault.
When officers arrived on scene, they found a male victim with a gash to his head.
According to police, the suspect in the incident, identified as 45-year-old Raimona Freeman, was located in the 700 block of South Crater Road and taken into custody without incident.
Freeman has been charged with malicious wounding and is being held without bond, according to officials.
