Airline offers $19 introductory fares on new route connecting two California mega regions

Low-cost carriers Frontier Airlines and Spirit Airlines are ramping up their intrastate service in California, adding new routes connecting the Bay Area to Hollywood Burbank Airport. This expansion comes as demand for convenient, affordable travel options within the state continues to grow.

Starting September 4, Spirit Airlines will launch 12 flights a week from San Jose Mineta International Airport (SJC) to Burbank, along with two daily flights from Sacramento International Airport (SMF) to Burbank. These new routes complement Spirit’s existing daily service from SJC to Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), providing more options for travelers seeking to fly between Northern and Southern California.

Frontier Airlines is also entering the Burbank market with several new routes. On November 21, the carrier will begin daily flights from San Francisco International Airport (SFO) to Burbank. To celebrate the new route, Frontier is offering an introductory one-way fare of $19, but travelers need to act fast, as tickets must be purchased by September 2.
