Former Florida Bed Bath & Beyond to Reopen as Barnes & Noble After Longtime Bookstore Shuts Down

The Barnes & Noble at 11802 N. Dale Mabry has been a staple in the Tampa community for nearly 30 years, offering a welcoming space for book lovers to browse, relax, and enjoy a cup of coffee in the on-site café. With over 2,300 reviews and a 4.6 out of 5-star rating on Google, the store has garnered a loyal following.

Unfortunately, the bookstore closed its doors on August 21, 2024, after nearly three decades of serving the community. The closure was not due to a lack of interest or business but rather because the store was unable to renew its lease.

Moving to a New Location

While the closure of the long-standing location may sadden some patrons, there is good news on the horizon. Barnes & Noble will be reopening in February 2025, just a short distance away in the former Bed Bath & Beyond space, also on N. Dale Mabry Highway. The new location will offer an even larger space for book lovers to explore, expanding from the previous 31,766 square feet to a more spacious 35,931 square feet.

This move not only preserves the presence of Barnes & Noble in the area but also revitalizes a retail space that might have otherwise become an empty eyesore. For Tampa residents who have long enjoyed their visits to Barnes & Noble, the new store promises to continue providing the same great selection of books, toys, music, and more, all in a fresh, larger setting.
