Dog and cat rescued by firefighters after southeast DC fire, 5 people displaced

WASHINGTON (7News) – D.C. firefighters rescued a dog and a cat from a burning home early Labor Day Monday morning, displacing five residents. D.C. Fire and EMS Department (DCFD) crews responded to a fire in the 1700 block of W Street SE, finding smoke pouring from a two-story end-row dwelling.
