Meet the Battle Creek Enquirer Athletes of the Week, presented by Oaklawn Hospital.

Each week during the high school sports season, we will ask our readers to vote for the top performance of the week in all the spring sports, taking a look at events from Monday-Saturday.

Make sure to vote early and often for your pick, as the winner will get an Enquirer Athlete of the Week T-shirt. Fans can vote for their favorite athlete until Wednesday at 5 p.m.

Harper Creek won the All-City championship in boys soccer for the first time since 2008 and only the second time in the history of the tournament with Tre’Quon Cotton scoring the game-winning goal. Cotton helped Harper Creek defeat Lakeview, 1-0, in the final of the All-City boys soccer tourney. Cotton, a senior, was able to score with :48 left in the first half for the only goal of the game.

Quarterback Jesus Macedo, injured part of last year, came out strong to start his senior year and led the Beaves to a 44-0 win over city-rival Lakeview. Macedo had two rushing touchdowns on quarterback keepers and led Harper Creek to three scoring drives in the first quarter to help his team take an early 24-0 lead.
