Massive fire destroys commercial building in San Joaquin County

(FOX40.COM) — A massive fire in San Joaquin County destroyed a commercial building and prompted a heavy response from local emergency agencies.

Early Sunday morning, the Lodi Fire Department said it responded to a fire along the 700 block of North Sacramento Street. When crews arrived at the scene they found a commercial building consumed by fire.

Officials said a “defensive operation was established to protect surrounding buildings.” The fire grew to a four-alarm, which brought in mutual aid resources from the Woodbridge Fire District , Waterloo Morada Fire District , Mokelumne Rural Fire District , and Stockton Fire Department .

The cause of the fire is under investigation and no injuries were reported. Anyone with information on the incident is advised by law enforcement to contact them at (209) 333-6739.
