SYRACUSE, NY (CortacaToday) – Authorities say there was no evidence of a shooting at the State Fair on Sunday night. The Great New York State Fair closed early on Sunday, August 31, 2024, “out of an abundance of caution” after reports of violence. At 8:38 p.m., State Police working the fairgrounds received a report of possible shots fired between the midway and Suburban Park. Just three minutes later, another call came in claiming shots were fired near the eatery building.
