VOTE: Florida Times-Union High School Athlete of the Week, Aug. 26-31

The results are in.

St. Joseph senior Jeremiah Kes is the new Florida Times-Union Athlete of the Week for Northeast Florida high school sports for the 2024-25 high school sports season, covering the week of August 19-24 in the Jacksonville area.

The wide receiver caught six passes for a career-high 198 yards and two touchdowns, in addition to an interception on defense, to help St. Joseph football defeat Cedar Creek Christian 42-6 in Week 2 football.

For the season, Kes has helped the Flashes to a 3-0 start to 2024.

He placed first in a vote of top Northeast Florida performers that included Middleburg’s Jaden Boyd (football), Episcopal’s Owen Finn (boys swimming), Fletcher’s Katie Issendorf (volleyball), Creekside’s Alyson Johnson (girls cross country), Fleming Island’s Tyler Mawhinney (boys golf) and Nease’s Jack Reich (boys cross country).
