41 Arrests Made in Hillsborough DUI Sweep Over Labor Day Weekend

The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) made a total of 41 DUI/BUI arrests as part of its successful “Operation Summer’s End” initiative over Labor Day weekend. The joint-agency operation focused on cracking down on impaired driving and boating to ensure a safe holiday for the community.

In collaboration with the Tampa Police Department, USF Police, and the Florida Highway Patrol, HCSO conducted 297 traffic and vessel stops, targeting both roadways and waterways in an effort to reduce DUI (Driving Under the Influence) and BUI (Boating Under the Influence) incidents.

“Our deputies’ commitment and efforts this weekend undoubtedly made a difference by keeping our community safe. Each arrest of an impaired driver or boater is a step toward saving lives,” said Sheriff Chad Chronister. “Operating any vehicle, whether on land or water, while under the influence endangers yourself and everyone nearby. We will not accept this dangerous behavior and will remain committed to preventing these reckless actions.”
