Woodburn city employees recently honored with public service awards

Woodburn is honoring two city employees with awards for excellence in public service.

Rosie Sanchez and Nick Weathermon have each been honored with the Mary Tennant Excellence in Public Service Award.

Weathermon is a community service officer with the Woodburn Police Department, and Sanchez serves as payroll specialist for the city.

The two were recognized, “for their unwavering commitment and hard work in serving both the city and the community,” according to a city Facebook post.

The awards are “a testament to their dedication and the significant impact they have made through their exemplary service,” the post states. “Rosie and Nick have 29 and 16 years of service to our community.”

The city noted, “Their unwavering commitment and dedication to the city and the people they serve are truly inspiring. We are fortunate to have them as part of our team.”

The prestigious Mary Tennant Excellence in Public Service Award honors individuals whose work performance and community involvement “transcend the ordinary, reflecting a deep commitment to excellence and a passion for making a difference in the lives of others.”
