City of Wichita approves renovation plan for new homeless center

WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) – The Wichita City Council has approved the renovation plan to convert a former elementary school into a center for the homeless. During Tuesday’s council meeting, members unanimously approved the allocation of $2,252,250 in American Rescue Plan Act Revenue Replacement Funding to turn the now-closed Park Elementary at 1025 North Main into a multi-agency center (MAC) for the city’s unhoused population.
