Rockford man accused of strangling, striking a woman in the face

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — Rockford Police arrested Alon Ducksworth, 22, for allegedly attacking a woman.

On September 2, around 8:24 p.m., police responded to the 300 block of Buckbee Street for a call of domestic battery. The victim told authorities he had hit her in the face and grabbed her by the neck.

The woman sustained visible injuries including a bloody lip, a knot on her left forehead, redness around her neck and scratches on her chest, according to court records.

During the investigation, officials said they saw messages Ducksworth sent saying he was going to hurt the victim.

The suspect told police the incident was just a verbal argument and nothing physical.

Ducksworth is being charged with domestic battery causing bodily harm and domestic battery causing strangulation.
