A closed Ryan’s buffet restaurant in North Myrtle Beach was sold this year. What we know

A closed North Myrtle Beach recently sold, but it is unclear what the property’s future holds.

According to Horry County Land Records, the former site of Ryan’s buffet restaurant, at 3607 Highway 17 South , sold for about $2.4 million in June 2024,

AlleyOops MB Properties, LLC, a Towson, Md.-based firm, made the purchase. AlleyOops is the name of a seafood restaurant chain in Ocean City, Md., that also provides bowling alleys, games and a live shark tank.

It’s unclear if the Maryland-based restaurant has any relation to the LLC that purchased the 3607 Highway 17 South property.

Chris Reda, a co-owner of AlleyOops, did not return a request for comment before publication. AlleyOops MB Properties, LLC’s South Carolina Registered Agent Ned Parsons also did not return a request for comment before publication.

While it’s unclear what the former Ryan’s restaurant will be, North Myrtle Beach issued a new building permit for the property. According to City of North Myrtle Beach records, the municipality issued a permit Aug. 8, 2024, for refacing cabinet and face panel signal for a free-standing sign.
