Deputies arrest two LA men in connection with Indian Wells and Rancho Mirage burglaries

Riverside County deputies arrested two Los Angeles residents for burglaries in Indian Wells and Rancho Mirage in which they allegedly stole jewelry and designer products estimated to cost half a million dollars.

The Palm Desert sheriff’s station received multiple reports regarding residential burglaries in Indian Wells and Rancho Mirage in July, the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department said in a press release. The suspects broke glass doors and windows to get inside the homes.

Authorities identified the suspects as Anthony Pena-Gomez, 39, and Carlos Riquelme-Montecinos, 40. The department said it believes Pena-Gomez and Riquelme-Montecinos are associated with an organized burglary group in the Los Angeles area that is responsible for burglaries around the country.

The two suspects were arrested and booked into the John Benoit Detention Center on Aug. 27 with bail set at $500,000, the department said. Authorities also served a search warrant in the 400 block of Cottage Home Street in Los Angeles and found a stolen gun from Burbank, stolen jewelry from a Rancho Mirage home, stolen jewelry from a Fullerton home, burglary tools, fraudulent identifications and cell phones.
