Bakersfield Fire Dept. seeks help identifying 2 people wanted for questioning in ‘Toucan’ building fire

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — Bakersfield Fire Department is asking for the community’s help in identifying two men wanted for questioning in connection to Monday’s vacant building fire in downtown Bakersfield.

The commercial building, also known as the “Toucan” building, located at 1030 19th Street went up in flames around 1 p.m. on Labor Day.

BFD released photos taken from surveillance cameras in the area and descriptions of both people Wednesday morning.

The first person is described as man with a thin build who was last seen wearing a white T-shirt, with black lettering, light green shorts, black tennis shoes, black socks with white striping, and a black baseball hat with the word “hockey” on it. He was also carrying a black backpack with red on the back and a long green stick..
