CHP makes 1,100 DUI arrests during Labor Day weekend

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — The California Highway Patrol was at maximum enforcement over the Labor Day weekend which helped officers make 1,100 DUI arrests.

During the 72-hour holiday enforcement effort, which began Friday evening, CHP made more than 1,100 arrests for driving under the influence. Officers also issued more than 27,000 citations around the Golden State.

New state law could allow sale and consumption of alcohol at BC’s Memorial Stadium

According to CHP, more than 16,200 of those citations issued were for speeding.
