Mobile teen accused of 2 robberies turns himself in: MPD

MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — A Mobile teen turned himself on Wednesday in connection to a robbery during a gun sale , according to police.

The Mobile Police Department said 19-year-old Ashton Rene McAlpine turned himself in after two people were robbed at gunpoint last Friday, Aug. 30.

Prichard Police detective arrested on perjury charge

The alleged robbery occurred Friday around 5:09 p.m. on the 2400 block of San Souci Road.

Officers said they responded to the scene and learned a male suspect, who was with his girlfriend, had met another male whom he knew, to purchase a firearm.

McAlpine is accused of pointing a handgun at the victim and his girlfriend while demanding the firearm. He is charged with two counts of first-degree robbery and is scheduled to appear in court for a bond hearing on Friday, Sept. 6.
