Driver veers into deep water outside Anchorage

A truck driver is okay after veering off of a highway and into some deep water late on Tuesday evening.

The accident happened at about 11:10 p.m. on September 3rd in the Turnagain Arm near Portage, Alaska.

According to Anchorage Daily News , the tractor trailer was traveling along the Seward Highway near mile marker 82 when the “driver lost control and veered off road into the Inlet.”

The semi truck ended up almost completely submerged and the trucker sustained non life threatening injuries .

No citations were issued as a result of the incident. A tow truck was working to remove the truck and trailer from the water as of Wednesday afternoon. No further information has been released.
