The National Weather Service has issued a Heat Advisory for parts of South Florida, including Coastal and Inland areas of Broward, Miami-Dade, and Palm Beach counties. Residents can expect heat index values to soar between 105 and 110 degrees from 10 AM to 6 PM EDT today. With these extreme conditions, there is a heightened risk of heat-related illnesses. Scattered Thunderstorms and Localized Flooding Forecasted
In addition to the oppressive heat, scattered to numerous thunderstorms are expected to develop throughout the day, bringing potential hazards such as strong wind gusts, frequent lightning, and heavy downpours. The Gulf Coast metro area is particularly at risk for localized flooding as multiple rounds of thunderstorms may result in significant rainfall.
