Greater Stockton Chamber of Commerce launches FastSTAART app to combat retail theft

The Greater Stockton Chamber of Commerce has officially launched the FastSTAART (Stockton Takes Action Against Retail Theft) app.

The purpose of FastSTAART “is to help mitigate retail theft in Stockton and San Joaquin County,” Frank Ferral, chief policy officer for the Greater Stockton Chamber of Commerce told The Stockton Record.

Codestack Academy developed the app, Ferral said.

“A free, user-friendly app designed to streamline reporting of retail theft incidents, making it easier for businesses to take action quickly,” the FastSTAART website states.

The San Joaquin County Board of Supervisors awarded the chamber with $1.2 Million, the Chamber’s website states.

The app was developed in collaboration with San Joaquin County District Attorney’s Office, local law enforcement and community stakeholders, the chamber stated in a news release.

“We’re building this airplane as we’re flying it, which is pretty cool, because no one else is doing it in the state of California,” Ferral said. “It’s Stockton and San Joaquin County taking the lead.”
