Hotel Petersburg, built in 1915: Interested in exclusive Hard Hat Tour of transformation?

PETERSBURG — If you are curious about the history and transformation of the iconic Hotel Petersburg, don’t miss the opportunity to take a Hard Hat Tour. Built in 1915 and closed in 1969, the historic hotel in Old Towne is undergoing a complete restoration to its original charm.

The exclusive tour gives guests a sneak peek into the magic of Hotel Petersburg before its grand opening. The guided Hard Hat Tours, available from noon – 1:30 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays, are booked up for the month of September.

Originally, the spots were limited to 15 guests per tour. However, Nitia “Tia” Robinson, Hotel Petersburg front office manager, may reduce the count to 10 beginning in October. The tour which takes place inside and outside includes several flights of stairs and a couple of elevator rides.

We were all pleased to receive swag bags as a parting gift. I will share the exciting experience in my next Social Butterfly column.
