Eastern Washington Forecast: Widespread Warmth Across State With Possible Hazy Skies

The National Weather Service in Spokane has issued a forecast indicating dry and unseasonably warm weather across the region, with widespread temperatures in the 90s through Sunday. This prolonged heatwave, driven by a strong high-pressure ridge in the Pacific Northwest, is expected to set record temperatures on Friday and Saturday in several areas. Central Washington and the L-C Valley are at higher risk for heat-related impacts, with HeatRisk levels reaching moderate to major.

While dry conditions persist, fire danger will increase throughout the week and into early next week. The region may also see hazy skies as wildfire smoke drifts in from surrounding areas. A small chance of thunderstorms exists in the Cascades on Saturday, though the likelihood remains low at 10%.
