Man wanted for attempted capital murder in Arkansas arrested in Seagoville

A 27-year-old man facing multiple charges in Arkansas, including firing a gun at a police officer, was arrested Monday in Seagoville, officials say.

An officer approached two vehicles in the 2800 block of Highland Meadows Drive early Monday morning, Seagoville police said. The vehicles were in the parking lot of a community pool, which was closed overnight.

Police said the officer identified one of the occupants as Caderious Avery, 27, and learned the Pine Bluff Police Department in Arkansas had issued a warrant for his arrest for attempted capital murder and a parole violation for a prior charge.

In Arkansas, Avery was involved with a shootout in a parking lot, fired a gun at a police officer sitting in her patrol vehicle, and fled. The officer was not seriously injured, police said.

Police said Avery was arrested in Seagoville Monday and booked into the Dallas County Jail.
