Man connected to large bail fraud scheme now charged with assault

Syracuse, N.Y. – A man who is accused of being connected to a fraud scheme that cheated dozens of families out of bail money is now facing assault charges. In the fraud case, Anthony Moffett, 31, and his mother Regina McCoy, 60, are charged with providing a deputy at the county Justice Center a falsified falsifying a jail release form on Jan. 17 after a family paid the two $3,500 to secure his release, according to court documents. The pair are also accused of forging a judge’s signature.
