Four people tragically lost their lives and nine others were injured in a shocking mass shooting at Apalachee High School in Winder, Georgia on Wednesday afternoon, just a month into the new academic year.
The alleged shooter, identified as 14 year old Colt Gray , is accused of fatally shooting two students – Mason Schermerhorn and Christian Angulo – and two maths teachers – Christina Irimie and Richard Aspinwall. He has since been arrested and will face charges as an adult.
Initially, students believed the lockdown was merely a drill, but they soon discovered the horrifying reality .

In addition to the fatalities, eight other students and one teacher were injured during the incident. Little information is available about the injured students, but the daughter of the wounded teacher, David Phenix, confirmed that her father was shot in the hip but is expected to recover.
