Jefferson County coroner searching for families of 2 recently deceased

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ala. ( WIAT ) — The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office is asking for the public’s help locating family for two people who recently died.

All efforts to locate the following individual’s families have failed. Anyone with information is asked to contact the coroner’s office at 205-930-3603.

Mary Carla Rivers

65-year-old Mary Carla Rivers, of Hoover, was found dead at her home on Three Sons Drive on August 3 during a welfare check. Rivers’ parents were from Pelham, and both were interned at Elmwood Cemetery in Birmingham.

Rivers has previously lived in Pelham, Helena, and Vestavia Hills.

Ronald Wilburn Freeze

81-year-old Ronald Wilburn Freeze, of Birmingham, died of natural causes while an inpatient at UAB Hospital on August 26.

The coroner’s office stated Freeze has family, Bethany Freeze and Leslie Freeze, interned at Elmwood Cemetery. Freeze has previously listed addresses in Birmingham and Vestavia Hills.
