Guns, explosives seized from South Bay resident involved in domestic violence case

( KRON ) — A resident of unincorporated Burbank in Santa Clara County who is involved in a domestic violence case and prohibited from possessing firearms was arrested on several weapons and illegal explosives charges on Wednesday, according to the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office.

The Santa Clara County District Attorney’s Office Gun Violence Task Force developed probable cause that Christopher Roberts, 37, was manufacturing explosive devices and firearms. A search warrant was obtained for Roberts’ residence and executed on Wednesday by the sheriff’s office emergency response team with assistance from the Campbell Police Department. Located in the residence were three firearms, ammunition, fuses, cylinder tubes and “large amounts” of black powder, authorities said.

Roberts was booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail for:

  • Three counts of possession of a firearm in violation of a court order
